I Don’t Trust Anyone?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Trust Guard | Sunday 31 May 2009 10:32 pm

Ok, I’m 28, I am in a wonderful relationship, I love my boyfriend more that anything, I know he loves me very much,. I have really never trusted anyone in my life (friend or boyfriend), I am always on guard that I am going to be lied to or cheated on. My boyfriend and I have talked about this and he said he can deal with me being a jealous person, but I am afraid he won’t be able to deal with it, I do not want to loose him, I trust the man with my life, but how can you trust someone with you life and still be on guard about lieing and cheating??
How do you trust people?? How do you know they won’t lie or cheat, I know you can’t know 100% but what if they do, I know you can’t stop something that will happen, but how do you put your mind in rest? So many thoughts go through my head, and other days I know he would never do anything. I’m not sure if I make things up in my head or what. I probably sound crazy, but I need answers. Please give me some advise, thanks….Dee

Ways Of Improve Fuel Economy In Existing Cars? Hybrid/electric Conversion?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Increase Conversion | Sunday 31 May 2009 10:21 pm

Ok so here’s the deal… I’m trying to come up with a business plan for a class for a company that would be able to increase MPG in existing, used, on the road, cars…
My first idea is to try and find a method of converting a gasoline powered car to a hybrid electric/gasoline… Would it be any where near cost effective? How long before we’d have the technology to do so?
How about ways of converting cars to run on electric power or interchangeable battery packs or things like that? I know its possible, but would any normal not-environmentally concerned person ever do it?
I want to come up with an amazing business plan that will blow people’s minds… I think a hybrid conversion would be amazing but is there any chance I could make it happen? Even if it is not yet entirely cost effective, is it feasible? Would it be helped with economies of scale i.e. the more conversions are done the cheaper they become?

How Can I Tell If My Couch Is Scotch-guarded?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Trust Guard | Sunday 31 May 2009 10:20 pm

My sofa was finally just delivered 2 weeks after I bought it. The delivery guys said the fabric protection I paid for was applied, but the store has been flaky about this purchase, so I don’t really trust it. There is no odor to the couch. I dropped a little bit of water on it, and it didn’t repel, it sunk in…so how do you know if something was scotch-guarded or not?

Is The Supply Going To Increase Or Decrease? ?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Increase Online Sales | Sunday 31 May 2009 4:16 pm

FOR ELECTRONICS RETAILERS it will be the holiday season of the flat- screen TV. But the companies that make the key component — the flat screen itself — won’t have much to celebrate.
Heading into the Christmas sales period, traditionally the biggest time of the year for electronics goods, prices of flat-screen TV sets are falling. Sharp Corp.’s 32-inch LCD-TV with built-in HDTV tuner, which was introduced to the U.S. in January at a suggested price of $5,000, now carries a suggested price of $4,000 and is being advertised by some online retailers for about $3,100, including shipping. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. recently began selling a 42-inch plasma set for under $2,000.
As prices slide, sales of flat-screen TV sets are expected to double this year and account for about 5% of global TV unit sales. Even so, these sets still yield far more profit for retailers than ordinary, tube-based TV sets. That markup is keeping prices above the level that could turn flat TVs into a mass-market item, say the companies most responsible for the price drop: the Asian makers of the highly complex glass screens called panels.
That isn’t fair, these companies say. To build the liquid-crystal display, or LCD, panels, they are investing tens of billions of dollars in factories as advanced as those that make computer chips. But these manufacturers can’t directly control retail prices since they are just one part of the flat-TV food chain. They sell their panels to TV-set makers, who in turn sell the finished sets to distributors, who then ship the TVs to retailers. Each piece of this chain takes a cut.
The world’s biggest LCD-panel manufacturers have been cranking out the flat screens faster than the TV industry can absorb as new screen factories have come online. That has prompted the panel makers to cut their wholesale prices by as much as 30% in recent weeks, a move that has lowered their profits. Now they are calling on TV makers, distributors and retailers to do their part to move the screens by reducing their markup on LCD-TVs — which amounts to as much as 40% of their retail price, according to analysts.
“Right now, to work on an immediate and quick liftoff of the LCD-TV market, the [retail] channel margin has to come down,” says Ron Wirahadiraksa, chief financial officer of LG.Philips LCD Co.. The Korean company is the second-largest maker of LCD panels and is a joint venture of LG Electronics Inc. of South Korea and Philips Electronics NV of the Netherlands.
Retailers insist their margins aren’t unduly high. They say the costs of displaying and marketing such big-ticket TVs don’t leave high net profits for them. Store chains have invested heavily in training sales clerks to explain the mind-numbing differences in flat-screen technologies. They also have a lot of money tied up in inventories of the costly TVs despite the relatively low sales volumes they generate.
Average selling prices of big-screen TVs have dropped to about $3,000 from $5,000 two years ago. That’s great for consumers. But for retailers, even if they keep charging the same markup in percentage terms, they end up with a lower gross profit per set sold in dollar terms, notes Michael T. Ryan, a former vice president of merchandising at Circuit City Stores Inc. and now president of international retail consultants Ryan Partnership.
The LCD panel makers, meanwhile, face competitive pressure from other screen technologies, including plasma, which generally is used in screens larger than 40 inches, and from the new high-resolution projection TVs that are powered by digital-mirror chips. Since September, plasma-TV prices have plummeted and contributed to a market-share gain over LCD sets. Large LCD screens cost more to build than plasma screens, though that may change in coming years because of efficiencies in the newer LCD factories.
Makers of plasma screens do face some of the same profit pressures as retailers apply a similar markup to those sets as well. But plasma- screen factories aren’t as costly to erect as LCD-screen plants, and there’s a bit less competition among plasma-screen makers, so the profit squeeze isn’t as bad.
Throughout the electronics industry, executives are plotting the rates of price declines and sales increases for flat-screen TVs and consulting their history books. Over the past decade, the pace at which consumers adopted each new electronic gadget — from PDAs to DVD players to MP3 music players to camera cellphones — seems to have accelerated. But most analysts predict that flat-screen TVs won’t take off as quickly as flat-screen computer monitors, which went from single-digit market share in 2000 to represent more than half of all monitor sales this year. Monitor purchasing has been driven by businesses while TVs are chiefly purchased by consumers, who tend to be more sensitive to price.
Still, flat-screen TV prices are reaching a level that draws far more buyers than the so-called early adopters of new electronics gear. “

How Safe Is My Pc On The Internet?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Hacker Safe | Sunday 31 May 2009 4:16 pm

When my wife and I first got our PC, we delayed getting it hooked up to the internet. Now that’s hooked up I am really enjoying it. However, I have some files on there that I don’t want others hacking into. I have heard about spyware and I even found a spyware software added to my PC. It could be the spyware protection so I have to call McAfee. Anyway, I deleted all my personal files but not sure if some hacker can still go in to my PC via the internet and scan the deleted files. McAfee says they have some way to clean the PC of deleted files. I am even afraid to trade my PC in for fear of some strangers hacking into my personal information. Do I need to buy a new PC and bury the old PC in the ground to be safe?

How Do I Get Over Trust Issues?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Trust Guard | Sunday 31 May 2009 4:05 pm

K, first off, let me say that I cant trust guys worth ****. Everytime I let my guard down, I end up getting hurt.
But now I’ve found a guy that I THINK i can trust. (I know I asked a question earlier sayin that I dont trust him at all, but that was a while a go) and I’m afraid of getting hurt again. I want to overcome this trust thing, because its nothing personal on him, its just in my mind. I love him, and I know I’m hurting him WAY too much because of the not being able to trust him thing. And its not fair to him.
I feel like I dont deserve him, that he needs someone who can actually trust him with everything. But I’ve had some pretty shitty experiences, so its really not my fault about the whole trust thing. How can I overcome these trust issues for his benefit as well as mine? answers will be much appreciated.

How Safe Is My Firewall Behind A Modem Router?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Hacker Safe | Sunday 31 May 2009 10:06 am

I’ve been using Zone Alarm firewall (free edition) for many years now & in all security tests it comes up as all ports in stealth mode, so hackers don’t know you’re actually connected. The problem is I’m no longer using dial-up & instead have a ADSL Ethernet Modem/Router- Hurricane 9200, it is now showing that ports 21, 23 & 80 are open as well as ping, the rest are showing as closed. I’m sure that beyond the router itself the ports on the computer’s own IP are still in stealth mode but hackers now maybe KNOW that there is a computer there somewhere because of the router responses.
How safe is my computer, should I change to a better firewall? Although other firewalls that I tried show the same ports open (which are on the router of course). I’m having some problems recently & I’m thinking possibly I’m being targeted. All settings on the router itself were done by the telephone service operators.
Am I safe, what can I do?

Friendships Can You Pay Their Price, Can You Then Guard The Secrets Of Others ?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Trust Guard | Sunday 31 May 2009 10:06 am

Friendship is perhaps the most valuable thing that there is, no man,,, or woman is meant to be an island, we are not meant to be alone, some stand taller in that situation than others and some mask it too well. I have always been classed as a loner, was that way young and can amuse myself without others, but have too the craving for others, or more, that special one,
that one shares and trusts, the price of friendship, is to expose, to open, that’s not easy for some and even I have subjects I find hard to breach, to lay ones self bare and be vulnerable, is not easy, that’s where one has to have trust, it can sometimes be wrongly given and can take years to build but be destroyed in a nano second.
We have to be careful of those we trust, choose them wisely, but we too must guard the secrets of others better than our own, our own mistakes are ours to live and come to terms with, but the secrets of others the’re placed in our care, that truly is trust.
A friendship like a relationship inevitably means highs and lows, and normally love of different types and pain, one feels for ones friends and shares their emotions, but the feeling of bonding and sharing enhances us, even if it be a group of too, the mutual understanding strengthening,
the knowing that someone is there a reinforcement to our situation, a friendship well placed will be an investment for life. I have friends, I have acquaintances, I notice the difference, better 2 good friends that a thousand acquaintances. I have received trusts which I hope never to break, stories that touch me and want me to defend the people I hear hurt or betrayed, the evil that is around us can indeed be strong, but friendship in the right hands can slay it, or the demons it leaves behind. I welcome new friendship and will help carry your baggage, and you too mine,
a problem shared, may not be remedied, but the support is there.
I greet you my friends and hold you close, hope never to fail you, but accept my failings.
Take care how you go, but remember the time, when our friendship was strongest and the time we shared, to the future I look, for it is brighter with you in it, for that I thank you.

How Are Security Guards Trained?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Trust Guard | Sunday 31 May 2009 4:09 am

I was shopping at a local discount store and followed too closely by a uniformed security guard. He was obviously untrained or just trying to harass me. Trust me I don’t look like the shoplifting type and nobody should be tailed around a store with 3 feet between you and the guard…creepy if you ask me. I will not go back but do they have the right to follow you so closely and annoy you by standing too close to you!

Why Are Some People Secretive Or Guarded?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Trust Guard | Sunday 31 May 2009 4:09 am

I’ve read a similar question/answer, however, there is someone I love, who I’ve been with for awhile. He is secretive about things that don’t seem relavant. It has driven me so nuts that in the past I started digging to find answers. He keeps such a large part of his life separate and guarded from me. At first, I suspected he was cheating, but to my relief, there is no cheating. So why the need to keep things secret?
I know men and women are different and we have a hard time understanding each other. I am also private where others are concerned, but isn’t it supposed to be different with someone you have an intimate relationship with?
This is not a trust issue. Just a point of frustration. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve tried to ignore this, but it has really driven me nuts. I just want to understand it so I can move on.
