I think its cause of the weird answers in back of textbook that are confusing me. I made a lot of grammar errors lol cause i was in a rush sorry about that.

1. Carbon nanotube is 30 nm in metre it is 3 x 10^-8 m why not 3.0 x 10^-8 m?
2. 20 ms to second = 2 x 10^-3 second why not 2.0x 10^-3 second
3. 280 mm+ 37 cm (look at value that has least estimated value)…so when u convert 280 mm it becomes 280 x 10^-1 cm+ 37 cm (7 lowest estimated) value so answer is 65 what if you do it the other way 37 cm is 37 x 10^2 mm+ 280 mm the 7 on 37 is estimated so answer should be 65 x 10 mm?? Am i doing this wrong I’m just trying to keep the answer with least estimated value.
4. 470 +5.89898=476 cause 0 is estimated..?
5. Speed of 100 km/h to miles per hour… the answer has 3 sig digs in the book but I thought 100 could have 1- 3 sig digs.
6. Masses between a proton and neutron 1.674927 x 10 ^-27 – 1.672621 x 10^-27= answer will have 7 sig digs right. But how come in answer in back it is 2.306 x 10^-30? Not 2.306000 x 10^-30.
7. Do sig digs matter in constant values.. Earth to sun constant value is 1.495 988 x 10^11 and earth to moon = 3.844 x 10^8 so farthest distance from sun to moon (when u add them can be ) 1.499 832 x 10^11( answer in back of book)….. but 3.844 has 3 decimal places so shouldn’t the answer be 1.500 x 10^11.
8. Speed of light is 3.00 x 10^8 m/s so when finding how long it takes for light to go from sun to earth the answer should have 3 significant digits like the speed of light?( therefore constants like speed of light specific heat of water, mass of neutron etc are considered in when determining number of sig digs to state, but unit conversions used in calculations are not used to determining number of sig digs in a calculation.
9. 460.299+ 390.0008+6.123 +5.07 final answer should have 5 sig digs but why does answer key say 6.
10. A apartment is 30 storeys high show height in meter the metres value should have 2 sig digs>?
11. 2.2 x 10^8 years ….in seconds is 6.937…x10^15 seconds but in answer key the answer is 7.0 x 10^15… But the number that is being dropped is 3 so shouldn’t the answer be 6.9 x 10^5 seconds.
12. Certain moth consumes 80,000 times its own weight…this would be included in determining sig digs because it is a measurement not counted value? How much would a human weighting 3.0 kg have to eat to compete so 3.0 x 80,000= answers should have 2 sig digs cause of 3.0? say a human weight 900000000 kg than the answer should only have 5 sig digs cause of 80,0000
13. At one time Fermi said his 50 min lecture lasted one micro century how close was his estimate .. This kind of question is confusing how many sig digs should answer have one? I get an answer of 2.56mins or 153.6 seconds off.
14. Canada speed limit is 100 km/h ( to m/s answer is 27.8 m/s) again this is confusing because does 100 have one sig dig 2 or 3
15. A mean solar day increases by 1 ms per century how much longer would a day be in 30000 years…the answer should have one sig dig cause of 1? So I get 3 x 10 ms but answer in back says 30 ms….
16. How long will it take from now for the day to be a minute longer because rate is 1 ms per century …answer is 6 x 10^6 years right?
Sooooo….. The only things not included in determining sig digs are things that are physically counted and unit conversions.

How about “temple for all” campaign in temples to increase awareness amongst the higher castes to embrace lower caste people in temples?
If there is discrimination against higher or lower castes then “affirmative action” like in U.S should become the law not just for lower castes but higher castes too who face treamondous discrimination!
Universal health care will make this country get away from the path of america’s capitalistic healthcare system (One big blunder in the history of U.S is non availibility of universal health care). We are not too far from america.
This will also make Dr manmohan singh say in the future, “Indians have the first right at country’s resources”. You got it right. It’ll make him a little less communal.

LST is a measure of time independent of the Sun’s cycles. Thus, Local Sidereal Time (LST) moves backward in solar time about four minutes a day, two hours a month and one day a year. Anywhere you are on the planet, at the same LST time you will see the same stars overhead. Example . . . your favorite star will set 4 minutes earlier each night. So why do you care about this? The Cognitive Sciences Laboratory in Palo Alto, California, made some exciting discoveries. They studied a group that had natural clairvoyant, clairsentient, clairaudient, ESP abilities. They discovered that during a specific window of time, that their test group was more accurate by 400% and more in their abilities to “see” or predict events. When scientists examined the accuracy of thousands of ESP predictions, along with the documented times that these anomalous cognitions took place, they were stunned. Did you notice that we are CHANGING THE WORLD? The illusionary powers of the world know they are loosing the battle! Light will and is prevailing. This is a critical time, and the forces of imbalance are desperately trying to block Earth’s Ascension into the 5th-Dimensional Realms of Light. They know that Lightworkers aren’t dumb, so they do not say “I am the sinister force, and I have come to ruin your life.” They say “I am god, follow me.” Their misinformation and disinformation uses terminology that Lightworkers are familiar with in order to confuse and block activities of Light. Their attempts to block the influx of Light that took place during the Fire the Grid event failed miserably. Much to their dismay, the Lightworkers redoubled their efforts and the influx of Light transcended the greatest expectations of Heaven.
Beloved Saint Germain has said that the greatest means of sorcery occurring on Earth at this time is people drawing the attention of the masses to the negativity taking place around the world. Where our attention is, there we are. Whatever we focus on, we empower. Do not empower those thoughtforms by addressing them or disputing them. Just let them go and invoke the I AM Presence of the souls involved to fill them with God Illumination and Divine Truth. That fear-based information has absolutely NO power over the Light, unless we choose to focus on it and empower it with our fears. It is the Divine Intention with which Lightworkers invoke the Light that determines the outcome. Solar Wave History - Where it all began…. The Solar Wave was an idea born in 1990 while Aluna Joy was on a pilgrimage to Palenque, Mexico. In an amazing overnight stay in the Temple of the Sun, she was taught, or better yet, downloaded with a vision.

Everytime I try to upload a homemade video using a Nightwish song, i get the Hounds of Hades from Warner Music Group breathing down my neck……

In this essay, Luevano initiates a theological reflection on the cases of the approximately 250 missing and 500 murdered women of Juarez-Chihuahua, Mexico. The women are victims of femicide, the murder of women by men. Luevano’s main purpose is to engage femicide as a theological challenge. After presenting a brief description of the social, political, and economic conditions that have fostered violence against women in Northern Mexico, the author focuses on exploring how the mutilated and dismembered bodies of these women call for an appropriate theological analysis. Finally, the essay concludes with a reflection on the power and the necessity of developing theological and ethical responses to the reality of femicide.

In Northern Mexico, increasing numbers of violent events have dramatically affected women’s lives. Since 1993, more than 250 women have disappeared and at least 500 women have been killed in the border town of Juarez, Mexico, and surrounding state of Chihuahua. (1) Domestic violence was the cause of approximately two-thirds of these murders. The rest can likely be attributed to targeted violence surrounding narcotics trafficking. Young women between the ages of ten and thirty are kidnapped, tortured, raped, and murdered. In many cases, their bodies are mutilated; in most cases, their remains are dumped in the desert slums on Juarez’s outskirts. On occasion, murderers leave victims’ bodies in the city’s central business district, in what appears to be an arrogant display of perpetrators’ immunity from the law. (2) These crimes are commonly referred to as “The Maquiladora Murders,” a reference to the women’s factory-worker status. I contend that they are part of a wider cycle of violence called “femicide.” (3)
I base my approach on observations and data gathered during field research in Juarez and El Paso, Texas, where I interviewed people directly affected by murder and others beyond the borderlands who have taken an interest in the situation there. I approach the Juarez-Chihuahua femicides from the standpoint of my own theological sensitivities and concerns. Their deaths call for an appropriate response in which the horror of femicide is opposed and denounced in word and deed. Such a response must analyze and address all conditions that cause or allow these women to be murdered without consequence. Thus in this essay, I focus on our response to the call of these events. Ultimately, I believe the Juarez-Chihuahua femicides are a modern-day summons to conversion for us all.
Only bold attention to the stark reality of the Juarez-Chihuahua femicides constitutes an adequate starting point for comprehensive consideration of this evil. Lack of such attention would more likely than not result in failure to see and accept the Juarez-Chihuahua femicides for what they are. Such failure would undermine the prophetic potency of this event and could lead to an idealization or glorification of the historically imposed suffering of these women. A wealth of comprehensive feminist theology rightly argues against such idealization and glorification.
I have divided my reflection into three sections. First, I present a brief description of the social, political, and economic conditions that created the environment fostering violence against women in Northern Mexico for more than fourteen years. Second, I focus on exploring how the mutilated and dismembered bodies of these women are part of the Juarez-Chihuahua theological event that calls for an appropriate response. Last, I point out the necessity of developing theological and ethical responses from the theological community to the reality of femicide.

Several factors have contributed to support an environment of violence against women and femicide in Northern Mexico. I suggest that these factors are structurally related to the processes of globalization affecting this specific context. Among these factors, my research shows the importance of considering the prevalent governmental corruption, North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), las invasiones (the invasions), the drug cartel, and shifts in gender roles.

While Jewish communities in Islamic countries fared better overall than those in Christian lands in Europe, Jews were no strangers to persecution and humiliation among the Arabs. As Princeton University historian Bernard Lewis has written: “The Golden Age of equal rights was a myth, and belief in it was a result, more than a cause, of Jewish sympathy for Islam.”22
Muhammad, the founder of Islam, traveled to Medina in 622 A.D. to attract followers to his new faith. When the Jews of Medina refused to recognize Muhammad as their Prophet, two of the major Jewish tribes were expelled. In 627, Muhammad’s followers killed between 600 and 900 of the men, and divided the surviving Jewish women and children amongst themselves.23
The Muslim attitude toward Jews is reflected in various verses throughout the Koran, the holy book of the Islamic faith. “They [the Children of Israel] were consigned to humiliation and wretchedness. They brought the wrath of God upon themselves, and this because they used to deny God’s signs and kill His Prophets unjustly and because they disobeyed and were transgressors” (Sura 2:61). According to the Koran, the Jews try to introduce corruption (5:64), have always been disobedient (5:78), and are enemies of Allah, the Prophet and the angels (2:97-98).
Jews were generally viewed with contempt by their Muslim neighbors; peaceful coexistence between the two groups involved the subordination and degradation of the Jews. In the ninth century, Baghdad’s Caliph al-Mutawakkil designated a yellow badge for Jews, setting a precedent that would be followed centuries later in Nazi Germany.24
At various times, Jews in Muslim lands lived in relative peace and thrived culturally and economically. The position of the Jews was never secure, however, and changes in the political or social climate would often lead to persecution, violence and death.
When Jews were perceived as having achieved too comfortable a position in Islamic society, anti-Semitism would surface, often with devastating results. On December 30, 1066, Joseph HaNagid, the Jewish vizier of Granada, Spain, was crucified by an Arab mob that proceeded to raze the Jewish quarter of the city and slaughter its 5,000 inhabitants. The riot was incited by Muslim preachers who had angrily objected to what they saw as inordinate Jewish political power.
Similarly, in 1465, Arab mobs in Fez slaughtered thousands of Jews, leaving only 11 alive, after a Jewish deputy vizier treated a Muslim woman in “an offensive manner.” The killings touched off a wave of similar massacres throughout Morocco.25
Other mass murders of Jews in Arab lands occurred in Morocco in the 8th century, where whole communities were wiped out by the Muslim ruler Idris I; North Africa in the 12th century, where the Almohads either forcibly converted or decimated several communities; Libya in 1785, where Ali Burzi Pasha murdered hundreds of Jews; Algiers, where Jews were massacred in 1805, 1815 and 1830; and Marrakesh, Morocco, where more than 300 hundred Jews were murdered between 1864 and 1880.26
Decrees ordering the destruction of synagogues were enacted in Egypt and Syria (1014, 1293-4, 1301-2), Iraq (854­859, 1344) and Yemen (1676). Despite the Koran’s prohibition, Jews were forced to convert to Islam or face death in Yemen (1165 and 1678), Morocco (1275, 1465 and 1790-92) and Baghdad (1333 and 1344).27
The situation of Jews in Arab lands reached a low point in the 19th century. Jews in most of North Africa (including Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Morocco) were forced to live in ghettos. In Morocco, which contained the largest Jewish community in the Islamic Diaspora, Jews were made to walk barefoot or wear shoes of straw when outside the ghetto. Even Muslim children participated in the degradation of Jews, by throwing stones at them or harassing them in other ways. The frequency of anti-Jewish violence increased, and many Jews were executed on charges of apostasy. Ritual murder accusations against the Jews became commonplace in the Ottoman Empire.
As distinguished Orientalist G.E. von Grunebaum has written:
It would not be difficult to put together the names of a very sizeable number Jewish subjects or citizens of the Islamic area who have attained to high rank, to power, to great financial influence, to significant and recognized intellectual attainment; and the same could be done for Christians. But it would again not be difficult to compile a lengthy list of persecutions, arbitrary confiscations, attempted forced conversions, or pogroms
The danger for Jews became even greater as a showdown approached in the UN. The Syrian delegate, Faris el-Khouri, warned: “Unless the Palestine problem is settled, we shall have difficulty in protecting and safeguarding the Jews in the Arab world.”

Lewis Gordon, director of the Center for Afro-Jewish Studies at Temple University in Philadelphia, estimates there are as many as 1 million blacks with Jewish blood in the US.

A Young American Convert

My name is Maryam. This is the story of my emotional, intellectual, and spiritual reversion back to submission to Allah. Back to Islam.
Many speak of conversion, but I prefer the concept of revert. I knew Allah. We all have. I believe this. But we forget, become disconnected, and confused as we become distracted by the influence of this world. There is a way back, and it is not our own. That is the miracle.
At age 8, I was able to articulate my belief in Allah. I was born and reared in the USA, so I called Him God. I felt quite inspired in those innocent years. I went to many churches on my own. My parents had become disillusioned with the Christian religion, and truly felt I was misguided.
They said that they did not believe in God. But in truth, they were rejecting a false god. Somehow, I could understand this, although I did not have a way to put it in words. Nor did I have access to the Quran. And as a typical American child, I did not know what Islam was.
From about 8 years old, until around 11, I attended whatever church my friends were going to and I learned how to pray. I was taught many versions of Christianity and wondered about each of them.
However, what I was most attracted to was that Jesus was a teacher. And I wanted to learn. I read the Bible, and I read the words that are allegedly spoken by Jesus. It wasn’t until later that I learned of the history of Christianity, and the history of the Bible.
During these young years, I was really attempting to express, and find community that has similar experience as me. That is was the outer expression of my faith.
But my inner truth, I knew that God was real, that no breath could exist except for Him. And I loved God. My parents did indeed think I was strange, because I truly wrapped my world trying to understand the mystery of God.
The Lord’s Prayer
Their line of thought was that if everything they had learned from their churches was incorrect, then there couldn’t be a God. This is a common response to an increased awareness of error in contemporary Western Christianity by many Americans, but that just didn’t make sense to me, because I knew there was. I couldn’t stop trying to explain all this to my parents. And I also had many questions that I wanted them to answer, about God.
My father was willing to listen. Finally, he had compassion for me, and he bought me this little book named “God Is Everywhere”. That’s it! I thought. That explains God! I was so thankful for that little book. My mother too, had compassion for me, and she taught me a prayer called “the Lord’s Prayer.”
I now had a way to feel like I could be connected to God, and I prayed from then on. Those two things, the knowledge that God is Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent, and the ability to pray, got me through some very difficult times that were yet to come.
In my youngest years, I was able to find God within the quiet place of the deepest part of my heart. Some call this one’s “center”. There was chaos all around me, family arguments and confusion, but I had this place, and it was home to me.
Yet, I did not worry about where my next meal would come from, and I had a roof over my head, and a piano where I could play songs to help me find that sacred space within my being.
That lasted until about age 12. Without warning, my parents were selling the house and contemplating divorce. I had already been a latchkey child, coming home to an empty house since the age of nine.
All By Myself
But now, no one knew where I was to live. My father bought property and did not have a home. My mother decided to do the same. She put a trailer on a small piece of land in a very rural area, an area where there are more wild animals than people. She invited me to stay in that trailer, and I accepted.
But I had lost my “center”. My connection with God. I was scared and confused. And then she left me there, alone. By age 13 I was living alone in a trailer in the “boonies” with the wolves. Often I did not have food, heat, or light. I had candles to read by.
My parents were living together in a cabin, but too far for me to get to. And they brought me food and water and heat and light when they remembered. But when they didn’t, I was alone.
Without going into detail, I can say some very scary and bad things happened to me during this time. I began to believe that God had forsaken me. I did not know of the Quran yet. But I had a Bible. I read it over and over again. I read the Book of Revelation over and over again, and I tried to make sense of it all, and make sense of my life.
This became a very long “dark night of the soul” for me. But even when I doubted God’s love for me, I knew He was there, things happened. Two times, I was nearly raped. Both times, Allah intervened and protected me.
One time I was walking down the road, and a man jumped out of the bushes and threw

It is important to stop a moment and have a look at what the Belgian scholar Koenraad Elst, has called “negationism in India”. In his foreword to the book of the same title, Koenraad explains that negationism, which means in this context “the denial of historical crimes against humanity”, is not a new phenomenon. In modern history, the massacre by the Turks of 1,5 millions Armenians, or that of the 6 million Jews by the Nazis, the several millions of Russians by Stalin, or again the 1 million Tibetans by the Chinese communists, are historical facts which have all been denied by their perpetrators… But deny is not the exact word. They have been NEGATED in a thousand ways: gross, clever, outrageous, subtle, so that in the end, the minds of people are so confused and muddled, that nobody knows anymore where the truth is.
Sometimes, it is the numbers that are negated or passed under silence: the Spanish conquest of South America has been one of the bloodiest and most ruthless episodes in history. Elst estimates that out of the population of native Continental South America of 1492, which stood at 90 million, only 32 million survived; terrible figures indeed but who talks about them today?
“But what of the conquest of India by Muslims”, asks Elst?
In other parts of Asia and Europe, the conquered nations quickly opted for conversion to Islam rather than death. But in India, because of the staunch resistance of the 4000 year old Hindu faith, the Muslim conquests were for the Hindus a pure struggle between life and death. Entire cities were burnt down and their populations massacred. Each successive campaign brought hundreds of thousands of victims and similar numbers were deported as slaves. Every new invader made often literally his hill of Hindu skulls. Thus the conquest of Afghanistan in the year 1000, was followed by the annihilation of the entire Hindu population there; indeed, the region is still called Hindu Kush, ‘Hindu slaughter’. The Bahmani sultans in central India, made it a rule to kill 100.000 Hindus a year. In 1399, Teimur killed 100.000 Hindus IN A SINGLE DAY, and many more on other occasions. Koenraad Elst quotes Professor K.S. Lal’s “Growth of Muslim population in India”, who writes that according to his calculations, the Hindu population decreased by MILLION between the year 1000 and 1525. INDEED PROBABLY THE BIGGEST HOLOCAUST IN THE WHOLE WORLD HISTORY. (Negat.34)
But the “pagans” were far too numerous to kill them all; and Hinduism too well entrenched in her people’s soul, never really gave up, but quietly retreated in the hearts of the pious and was preserved by the Brahmins’ amazing oral powers. Thus, realising that they would never be able to annihilate the entire Indian population and that they could not convert all the people, the Muslims rulers, particularly under the Hanifite law, allowed the pagans to become “zimmis” (protected ones) under 20 humiliating conditions, with the heavy “jizya”, the toleration tax, collected from them.
“It is because of Hanifite law, writes Mr Elst, that many Muslim rulers in India considered themselves exempted from the duty to continue the genocide of Hindus”. The last “jihad” against the Hindus was waged by the much glorified Tipu Sultan, at the end of the 18th century. Thereafter, particularly following the crushing of the 1857 rebellion by the British, Indian Muslims fell into a state of depression and increasing backwardness, due to their mollah’s refusal of British education (whereas the elite Hindus gradually went for it) and their nostalgia for the “glorious past”‘. It is only much later, when the British started drawing them into the political mainstream, so as to divide India, that they started regaining some predominance.
Negationism means that this whole aspect of Indian history has been totally erased, not only from history books, but also from the memory, from the consciousness of Indian people. Whereas the Jews have constantly tried, since the Nazi genocide, to keep alive the remembrance of their six million martyrs, the Indian leadership, political and intellectual, has made a wilful and conscious attempt to deny the genocide perpetrated by the Muslims. No one is crying for vengeance. Do the Jews of today want to retaliate upon contemporary Germany? NO. It is only a matter of making sure that history does not repeat its mistakes, as alas it is able to do today: witness the persecution of Hindus in Kashmir, whose 250.000 Pandits have fled their 5000 year old homeland; or the 50.000 Hindus chased from Afghanistan; or the oppression of Hindus in Bangladesh and Pakistan. And most of all, to remember, is to BE ABLE TO LOOK AT TODAY WITH THE WISDOM OF YESTERDAY. No collective memory should be erased for appeasing a particular community.

McCain, Obama scramble to shift economic message
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - With economic anxiety rising, Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama scrambled Wednesday to adjust their messages to connect more directly with financially struggling voters.
Obama talks directly into the camera in a new, two-minute television ad on how he’ll fix an economy in which “paychecks are flat and home values are falling.” McCain and running mate Sarah Palin softened opposition to government bailouts, accepting the U.S. takeover of the nation’s largest insurer as unfortunate but necessary to protect ordinary Americans.
“The shot that has been called by the Feds — it’s understandable but very, very disappointing that taxpayers are called upon for another one,” Palin told reporters during a visit to delicatessen in Cleveland.
Both McCain and Obama advocated cracking down on freewheeling Wall Street practices and for tough new regulations on financial institutions.
Obama ridiculed McCain’s calls for more regulation as an eleventh-hour conversion for one who has long championed deregulation.
Too many in Washington and on Wall Street “weren’t minding the store. They sat on their hands until it was too late,” Obama told a rally in Elko, Nev. He challenged McCain’s vow to take on the “old boy’s network…He hasn’t taken them on for the last 26 years.”
The increased emphasis on the faltering economy came on a day when stocks resumed their downward plunge following Tuesday night’s government takeover of American International Group Inc. with an $85 billion two-year loan from the Federal Reserve in return for a majority stake in the company.
“The focus of any such action should be to protect the millions of Americans who hold insurance policies, retirement plans and other accounts with AIG,” McCain said in a statement. “We must not bail out the management and speculators who created this mess.”
The turnabout came a day after McCain strongly opposed additional government relief and praised the government’s decision not to rescue Lehman Brothers after it had intervened to help investment bank Bear Stearns and mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
His Democratic rival addressed the AIG takeover in Elko, saying the government acted “to prevent an even larger crisis.” Arguing that the U.S. housing market was “in a shambles,” Obama said it was important now for the Federal Reserve to ensure that families with AIG insurance are protected. “It must not bail out the shareholders or the management of AIG that were making big profits when times were good.”
Obama, in his own change of tactics, speaks directly to voters in a new commercial to air Wednesday on national cable and in some battleground states.
“In the past few weeks, Wall Street’s been rocked as banks closed and markets tumbled. But for many of you — the people I’ve met in town halls, backyards and diners across America — our troubled economy isn’t news,” Obama says in the ad, taped Tuesday in a living room-like setting.
“Paychecks are flat and home values are falling. It’s hard to pay for gas and groceries and if you put it on a credit card, they’ve probably raised your rates,” he adds.
Obama also laments rising health insurance costs. 47. Need to revise or reverse the procedure at some point in the future because of nutritional deficiencies, excessive weight loss, pain or other reasons
48. Extended disability, financial hardship as a result of complications related to weight loss surgery
49. Parts of your stomach and/or intestines will be inaccessible by endoscopy.
50. Death (1% nationwide) within 30 days
