How Can I Verify The Validity Of A Title Company?

Hello,
My agent wishes to use a title company called “Home Title”
www.hometitle.net
According to the website they are “backed by Chicago Title Insurance Company.”
What are risks I should be investigating before I go with them, and how can I confirm that they really are able to uphold their title insurance?
I am paying with cash so I have no bank to back me up…

  Call your states real estate board, they will tell you over the telephone. They answer right away, with a real person, this will be easy.
