How Do I ‘verify That My Smtp Server Setting Is Correct’?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Verify Website | Saturday 4 July 2009 10:26 pm

I’ve set up a new website and the e-mail facility is not working. I am receiving e-mails but cannot send any. When I try it says to verify your SMTP server setting is correct. How do I do this and where can I find it - I havnt a clue so detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated.

when you set your POP3 server and SMTP you may give for example http://www.xyz.com (change xyz with your site or url name) in both the instances. that should do.

    Hi,
Contact your hosting provider or the service you used to create the website.
Not all SMTP servers are the same. Maybe inside the FAQ section of the site you used to get the website there is listed those details.
They must be correct to work, so probably they are just incorrectly written.

some mail servers require secure authantication before allowing to send e-mail, you need to tick the box in outlook to change this setting
