How Good Is My Internet Security?
Is it possible for someone to look at what’s on your computer from another pc online. If probable, what kind of firewall or security to stop them from doing so.

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following link. http://www.computeractive.co.uk/... On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps.
yes, dont open spam mail, or anything on any messagers unless yer very sure.
Yes, of course. This is about spyware.
The minimum security for WinXP is to install the SP2 from microsoft.com/security
Then, set the firewall of SP2 to reject all but permit accepted.
Then, you disable the anti-virus in SP2; but install a better anti-virus, e.g. avast, norton or McAfee. Also install anti-spyware and anti-adware. Internet security suite is better now.
In the other words, WinXP SP2 plus internet security suite. Then, you need to set two firewall but one anti-virus, one anti-spyware and one anti-adware.
Keep update the WinXP security package per month, and update the antivirus (or internet security suite) daily.
You also need a good browser, e.g. Netscape. Never let the browser to remember your password, never let other know your password and never answer any email of phishing.
If too complicated or time consuming, change to use Mac machine. But you still need anti-virus for Mac.
