    If you have Norton, like it, and want to stick with it, getting NIS is a good next step because it has anti-spyware and firewall capabilities, as well as anti-virus.
    Lots of folks would argue that there are plenty of products out there that are free and/or better than anything than Norton offers, and they do have some good points.
    But, speaking to **your** situation: A current Norton product would be an improvement over the older one you have now. If you have the opportunity to get NIS for free or for a song, go ahead and go for it.
