How To Obtain Social Security Benefits As A Minor?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Online Security | Monday 23 November 2009 4:13 am

My father is eligible for social security (lives out of state) and I am a minor. Thus, I am entitled to benefits but I do not know how to file an application. I checked online, and they do not have an application for children available. Do you have a link to the application, or do I obtain a paper copy at the SS office? Thanks. PS I am not a disabled child-I am looking to collect benefits on my father’s behalf

If your father listed you on his application as his minor child, SS is obligated to get an application for benefits from you. You should call SS and make an appointment to file.

If you received a letter you should go to the ss office.

Your father would need to apply.
