I’m Interested In Computer Security And Am Looking For An Online Degree - Uni Of Phoenix, Or Strayer?
First of all it has to be an online degree because I don’t have access to a car and can’t get to a local school, let alone my work schedule is completely random. Also I am from PA. I have researched three places that I am very interested in going to, ITT tech, Uni of Phoenix, and Strayer Uni. I am interested in Strayer because my friend who has a very good job at IBM has told me some employees there have degrees from Strayer. I guess ITT is out already because I see they are only nationally accredited and there are tons of complaints online, but I also have read that all three of them are for profit, and therefore not respected.. So now I am thinking that I should just go to penn state online with their degree “Bachelor of Science in Information Sciences and Technology”, but it is not security focused, so I am not sure. Please help! time is running out for enrollments and I need to make a good decision, thanks in advance

Have you done enough amount or research to be sure that the above mentioned universities are the best ones for you? There are many other accredited online universities that you may want to join like Virginia college and regis.
When you have short listed your choices, then comes the killer question. “Which of these is the best for me?”
There are 3 criteria here that may help you make the best choice.
Firstly do a background research on the faculty. Check their qualifications as well as teaching experience. A good faculty would surely offer a degree of superior quality.
Secondly you may contact the students currently enrolled in those universities and programs. Ask them for their opinion. They would reveal weakness that the university may not have told you about.
Lastly check which university has a good number graduates employed at reputable firms.
Be sure that you dedicate enough time to your studies. Many students take the freedom of studying online for granted. With a lot of work load, you may a finish a bachelors degree in as few as 2.5 years. Should you not submit assignments on time, you could spend 5 to 6 years pursuing the same degree.
A few years ago, not many employers recognised online degrees. But that has changed. Acceptance of online degrees is gaining serious momentum and after a few years when you finish your degree, you will realise that employers would hardly discriminate online degrees.
