Need Help Very Badly…want To Access Eir…my Mobile Phone…please Read Below..?

How to check the IMEI number of my mobile phone (mine’s SE w800i) from a website & verify whether the IMEI number that my mobilephone has is a black/grey/white-market good?I mean which site gives access to EIR(Equipment Identity Register)?
Which site offers free verification of IMEI no?
Pls help me…Had a very minor problem with my phone-keypad lights were not working & also wanted a s/w upgrade.. took my mobile phone for servicing to a Sony Ericsson-authorised service centre in kolkata..but after taking my new mobile phone which is only 6 mths old & within warranty period…they r taking 3 weeks & saying that my original phone cannot be returned & after much dilly-dally they said they will swap/exchange my original phone with a so-called new phone with a new IMEI no…but when i got the new phone as soon as i entered my working Airtel SIM card & own battery the phone gave a error something like this-”Network failure,please contact your Service Provider”.seems it’s blackmakt prod…
