I’m due to get a phone upgrade tomorrow, and I’ve been waiting for a while because I currently have the Samsung a737 and the keypad has fallen off.
After doing months of homework I went into AT&T today to look between the LG Xenon and Samsung Impression. I quickly dismissed the Xenon and one of the sales associates (an Apple user himself) started asking about why I wasn’t considering an iPhone (because I had been messing with one before looking at the other phones.)
The ~new~ iPhone is rumored to come out next month, and details will hit tomorrow, but the pricing looks like it’ll be the same – it’s supposed to have 258 RAM, 3.2mp camera, the battery life is increased and it might have iChat. I don’t know, don’t yell at me, that’s just what I’ve read. But that sounds great and anyone who gets an iPhone now would probably sadface when the new one came out.
The iPhone is $40 cheaper upfront, but costs $15 more each month for internet fees. And I already have a 30gb zune, so, I don’t know what I’d really do between iTunes and Zune or whatever.
But, my question is boiling down to which phone do you think about be better? I’m only a high school student. Obviously, my phone goes through some wear and tear, I’m a big texter/twitter person, I go on the internet a lot on my phone, I take pictures/videos on my phone often, and I need a good battery life for when I go on trips and can’t get to a charger whenever.
2 people I’ve talked to said yes, get the iPhone, one of my friends and a lot of people online say no. Could I get more input.
Sorry lol tl;dr. But thanks

hi,
My choice would be the samsung impression… neither phone has flash for taking photos. Thought the new iPhone is very cool… the samsung impression is more durable.. and a little smaller… and thinner… even though it hides a full qwerty keyboard. Also money wise they both cost the same online. But the data plan for the iPhone is $30 a month… well the impressions is $10 a month for unlimited. And one other thing I think that samsungs tech service is a lot better. Through my personal testing the samsung impression has better battery life… annd you can get an even better battery for it if needed. Where the iPhone’s battery can only be replaced by the same battery type at an apple retail store.
My overall pick samsung impression

[...] Which is better? The impression vs iphone? My personal gadget is the Apple iPhone. If you already have a PDA phone, you can switch to a different network and take your phone number with you, although you may need a different device. You could get a connection with a new number, using your existing PDA. When you buy a smart phone you need to choose a network – O2, Vodafone, Orange, AT&T and T-mobile are some examples of mobile phone networks. Each network is a collection of radio towers all over the country, linked together and transmitting people’s conversations. A mobile phone service normally comes as a package, made up of the phone itself and access to a network. There are five main mobile phone networks in the UK – O2, T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone and most recently ‘3′ with its growing third generation network which can support mobile video. Other operators such as Virgin and BT Mobile use the 5 main networks and there are many airtime resellers dealing with one or all the networks. They offer two ways of using their services; by “pay as you go” or by monthly line rental. If you do not intend to make a great number of calls from a mobile phone, a pay as you go package may suffice but any reasonably regular use especially during business hours probably warrants a monthly package – which package will depend on the number of calls you anticipate making. You don’t need to put pen to paper for most mobile phone contracts nowadays, but they are still legally binding. Contracts can be ’signed’ over a website or over the phone. The network should be the first thing you choose when you’re starting out whether you choose the Impression or iPhone. Your choice of network will decide where you get good coverage, and how good the customer service is. Some networks have better coverage in particular areas than others, but customer service varies from day to day, depending on demand. What’s your choice?Impression vs iPhone [...]
