Someone Used My Credit Card To Purchase Online Stuff?

Posted by Conversion Expert | Online Security | Thursday 26 November 2009 5:50 pm

I don’t know how it happened…… I don’t even know who could have used my card but I see a bill stating I’ve made online transactions such as …… 1 year license on nod32 smart security and games on steam??? Total cost is estimated $500!! Do I have to pay for this? If I dispute this with my credit card company, will they pay for me? How can I go into having to find the person who did this (trace) ?

Call your credit card company and file a fraud claim. They will do the rest.

If you dispute it with the credit card company within 48 hours of learning of it, then you do not have to pay more than $50. If you do not report the unauthorized use to the credit card company within 48 hours of learning of it, and it continues, then you may be required to pay up to $500 of future unauthorized charges.
You do not “go into having to find the person who did this (trace)” yourself. The credit card company does that, after you dispute it.
