paypal NEVER ask for security!!!! in an email !!!
and paypal and ebay always addresses you by your first name !!!
    not dear paypal user
when you initally set up your paypal account the CC was used to make payments, once the limit was reached it then would not function until it has your bank route number as evetually all paypal accounts are done via instant bank transfer method, with a credit card used only for back up funding.

Oh yeah, I used them for many years now. Never a problem, and in fact they even offer paypal protection to insure a safe transaction. I even have it linked to my checking account.

If you are setting up an account on pay pal and you are the one that went to their web site, then its okay for you to give them your information. If pay pal contacted you and wants the information, then DO NOT give them the info. Its a scam and someone is using pay pal as a front to phish for personal information. I have been using pay pal for over a year and have never had any problems with my info being given to anyone and have never had any of my accounts breeched.

Only if you are answering a phishing scam from your email. Then that is not pay pal but someone trying to get your info. If you are on the paypal sight and they ask this then I would trust it. Only had one hiccup with them when some guy tried to get money from me for something I never bought but it was fixed very quickly.
