While In The Usaf Security Forces, What Dictates Which Weapon I Will Be Assigned?
I am a tall guy, 6′4” and weigh 210lbs. Im enlisted into the US Air Force, and am designated to join Security Forces. I have been wondering though, if I would get stuck lugging around a massive weapon (SAW) because of my size, or if its somewhat of a choice I can make. I have looked around online a bit, and cant find any certain answers, so any insight to the topic would be helpful.
Im not sure exactly however i would doubt that USAF security forces are using an SAW. Ive only heard of marines using it, one in each 14 or w/e man squadron. Id love to hear what they send you out with because i am not familiar with the USAF security forces and what exactly they do, but im not sure theyre in need of a heavy m-60 like weapon.
Depends / on what you qualify on weapon wise and what post they assign you to
I was an SF Augmentee (M-16) from time to time assigned to Ramp Duty / The Security Force Person i was matched up with was assigned a M-249
The USAF
